Authentication Realm Name Configuration

Description

Specifies the name of the current authorization realm. This will be passed back to the browser if authentication fails for display to the user.

Parameters

The name to be displayed to the user by the browser.

Default If No Entry Found

If there is no realm name specified, user authentication is not allowed.

Command To Change This Value

File Syntax

AuthName RealmName

Each realm name entry must be within a directory section. If more than one realm name is specified in the same directory section, the last entry will be used for that directory.

When processing failed requires, only one realm name will be used. The one used will be the one that is nearest (and farthest from the root) to the directory for which access is being evaluated.
